first attempt: who saved whom?

first attempt: who saved whom?

who saved whom?

Was thinking of sharing this funny incident which happened to me enroute to my office one of the days. It started as a usual day when i boarded my bus to office and was quiet happy to find a window seat to take a quick nap. When I was woken up all of a sudden near sarjapur to see a biker obstruct the our bus, stop it and get inside the bus to have jab at the bus driver, our driver and bike rider were exchanging arguments. It looked like our bus driver had taken a right turn somewhere violating some traffic rule which caused that bike rider some unwanted trouble.
That biker was young fellow, well built and is a localite of the place where the incident occured. Both men were ready to exchange blows but this biker was afraid of the no of people inside the bus, he left after giving the driver a stern warning and I thought this is the end of the story.
What followed next was scary and if I look back its quiet funny. That biker again blocked our bus with a couple of his friends, entered the bus and started thrashing our bus driver left and right. And our soft software engineers thought they can stop him by shouting at him. Most of them were clueless on what to do, while I woke up to see driver getting beaten up and someone in the front seat shouting - "Police ko bulao" holding his mobile phone in the hand, he was gesturing as if he was looking at his mobile for the first time and didn't know what to do with it.
Meantime i thought i can pacify that biker by talking in local language, hold his hands and stop the bloody attack. I ran upto the drivers seat where the driver was getting beaten up black and blue, put my hand between the bus driver and the biker and asked him to stop beating the driver, by that time some more ppl gathered behind me to have a closer look at what was happening. That fellow stopped beating the driver, looked at me and raised his hand as if to punch me at my face. Thats when I realised he's not ready to talk and there is no line defense between him and me, and i can't even go back now cos ppl were gathered behind me.Than the poor driver found a rod near his seat, held it into his hand said don't touch the employee talk to me now and continued to get beaten up.
Meantime his friends got scared when public gathering increased and took his friend away and the bloody fight ended there.
Now every day when I board my bus that bus driver smiles at me, makes me wonder whether it means to thank me for an attempted rescue or he thinks what would've happened to me if he didn't stop that guy.

welcome the season of festivals

The season festivities has started, the mood around everywhere is vibrant with discount, sales offers from all the retailers pouring in, people are so upbeat that the feeling of recession is beaten or rather forgotten for a while.
On the hindsight it also gives rise to the situation of mass violation of rules and regulations which people rarely notice. I mean the rules on decibel levels of crackers and the time limit during which crackers can be burnt. While there are regulations prohibiting our citizens from bursting crackers beyond a certain time in the evening( around 10:30 PM or so) and decibel levels of crackers limited to 120 db. It would be very foolish of me to expect our citizens to respect these rules or even consider the harm that some of these firecrackers could cause to our atmosphere. This in a way is a classic demonstration of helplessness of our law enforcers when a major section of population out there, who aren't disciplined enough to follow the norms. The noise pollution in the late night is unbearable for elders and heart patients, for others it is annoying. When there is so much effort around the world to save the greenery of earth, people conveniently forget the damage caused to the atmosphere in the excitement of holding a firecracker or a sparkler in their hand.
I hope and pray for a diwali with less pollution and a cleaner city.

Finally Thankyou

Sometimes when we half pronounce something or others just hear some words partially when we utter something, very rarely do we get into trouble. We'll such a rare occasion occurred to my friend recently where he was embarrassed at a public place.
It all begun like this when we visited a hospital to do a dental checkup to for my friend. Yeah with amount of sweets he eats, he pays weekly visit to dentist. It was pretty crowded on that day and as we went in my friend asked the receptionist when doctor will attend him and as usual she asked him to wait for 10 minutes when his turn would arrive. In the meantime i just dozed off on the sofa and i guess my friend was reading through an old outlook magazine which was on the table. The receptionist made us wait for longer than we expected and my friend had to frequently enquire her when his turn would come and finally gave up and picked up a really old magazine from a pile of books placed on the magazine stand to read an old articles and glancing the pictures of the models. After around 2 hrs she called out my friends name which we didn't notice. She went near him and sir you can go. He uttered finally thankyou(thats what he says he had said) and layed the magazine on the table. When the receptionist gave him a slap and said What did you say MR. With the look of shocked to death on his face. He said - "FInally Thankyou" is what i said. Then the receptionist told he had heard it as "Fuck you" and apologized to him for slapping.
He went to meet the doctor holding his cheek.
